The new G 310 R marks the BMW debut in the most important small motocycle displacement segment. It has been designed in collaboration with the TVS Indian factory, one of the leaders in this sector with 2,5 million vehicles sold. The “small” BMW is powered with an exclusive single-cylinder engine with 313 cc and 34 hp at 9.500 rpm and 28 Nm torque at 7.500 rpm. This engine is particular for its cylinder, facing backward and with its “overturned” head. Its frame is made of steel and its swingarm is equipped with a trellis upper part. Its overall weight is around 158 kg, ABS included. As usual BMW pays close attention to ergonomic aspects of its motorcycle range. It also does this for the G 310 R model, with its three adjustable saddles, that go from 815 to 760 mm from ground level in height. The standard adjustable saddle reaches instead 785 mm.
